Professor Dr Azizan Ahmad is a UKM graduate with a bachelor’s degree (1996) and a doctor of philosophy (2004). Throughout his career as an academic at UKM, he successfully produced 18 excellent graduates at the PhD level and 23 at the master’s level. He also received various awards including the Publication Award (2011), Community Service Award (2011), Outstanding Teaching Staff Award (2012), Outstanding Service Award (2016), Outstanding Graduate Supervisor Award (2017) and UKM Bitara Individual Category Funding Award (2018) ). He successfully established joint research with leading universities in the world including Osaka University, Uppsala University and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

Prof. Dr. Eng. Khairurrijal, M.Si., is a distinguished professor at the Physics of Electronic Materials Research Group, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). Renowned for his innovative approach to research, he has been recognized with the Academic Leader Award 2019 in the field of science by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. Prof. Khairurrijal advocates for the “paper, pencil, and common computer” method, emphasizing cost-effective and accessible research practices. His significant contributions include the development of an I-V meter, advancements in nanofiber and nanoparticle synthesis, and numerous publications in reputable international journals. His dedication to fostering academic and research culture in Indonesia is reflected in his mentorship at ITB and his efforts to bridge local challenges with global scientific developments.

Prof. Tek Tjing Lie

Professor Tek Tjing Lie is the Interim Head of School at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences. He received his BS degree from the Oklahoma State University, MS and PhD degrees from Michigan State University. He has previously held academic positions in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University. His research interests are in the fields of Power System Operation and Control, Deregulated Electrical Power Markets, AI Application to Power Systems, Renewable Energy and Smart Grids.

His career reflects a strong commitment to enhancing the reliability and efficiency of power generation in Indonesia, with a notable tenure in the Semarang area of Central Java and Gilimanuk, Bali. Lukman’s expertise is underpinned by a deep understanding of the technical and strategic aspects of power plant management.
